Is it safe to put a few drops of eucalyptus oil in the bath while pregnant?
Question by charlie: Is it secure to place a couple of drops of eucalyptus oil in the bath while pregnant?
I have a sinus infection and am very stuffy. I usually take a bath and put about ten drops of eucalyptus oil in the tub.
Is this protected to do whilst pregnant? I am 26 weeks.

All forms of eucalyptus oil should be avoided by pregnant or breast-feeding females due to the fact of its known toxicity. It is not clear if eucalyptus oil is passed to babies through breast milk, but there have been cases of infant deaths from taking eucalyptus oil by mouth-located this on the net. I wasn’t positive myself if it was secure. Good luck!

What I used do when I was pregnant was to rub the oil into my palms, take it to my face and breathe in. Or just boil some water, pour it into a bowl, add the drops and inhale the steam. I guess it´s much safer than putting it directly into the bath and works similarly.
Geez, I just use Johnson and Johnson Menthol Vapor Bath…
Use the Vicks baby rub! It’s ment for infants(3 months and older). The first poster is wrong. I talked to my doctor. She had me use the Vicks baby rub which had Eucalyptus oil, Lavender oil, and Rosemary oil in it. It’s menthol you should stay away from. If you really want it in you bath just use 5 drops instead of 10.
